After more than a month of devastating conflict, and more than 11,000 Palestinian and 1,200 Israeli deaths, the UN Security Council passed a resolution on Wednesday calling for extended humanitarian pauses and the release of captives held in Gaza.
The US abstained from voting on the resolution, which does not mention the word āceasefireā, and Israel has rejected the Security Councilās legally binding decision.
