A labyrinth of cellars and passageways lay within South Bridge in Scotland’s capital city. At least 120 vaults were built in South Bridge as storage for merchants. The bridge had several leaks though, which made the workers abandon the unsanitary space. Afterwards, the vaults were used for something more sinister.
