The UN Security Council held discussions on Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction whilst also addressing Israel’s actions in the occupied West Bank.
UN officials and member states expressed concern over what they described as gradual de facto annexation through settlement expansion and settler violence.
The meeting was brought forward to avoid clashing with the first session of Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, raising questions about how the two bodies will coordinate their efforts on Palestinian issues.
