‘We will not waiver’: Biden affirms US support for Ukraine after NATO summit

NATO leaders have wrapped up their annual summit in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
In a speech, US President Joe Biden vowed that support for Ukraine will persist for as long as it takes to defeat Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed a commitment by G7 nations to support Ukraine for as long it takes to defeat Russia.
At the end of a two-day NATO summit in Lithuania, Zelenskyy said the assurances are ‘a foundation of security on the path to joining the alliance.’
A day earlier, Zelenskyy expressed frustration at the delay in joining NATO.
NATO leaders issued a declaration stating Kyiv is now closer to the military alliance than ever before.
Russia said the latest NATO summit demonstrates that the Western military alliance has returned to “Cold War schemes”, and Moscow was ready to respond to such threats by “all means” necessary.
