Fox News is being sued by Dominion Voting Systems for $1.6bn (£1.3bn), who claim its reputation was hurt after the network knowingly spread lies about its voting machines after the 2020 US election.
Then-president Donald Trump attacked the voting company after the ballot, falsely claiming that it rigged the election to favour Joe Biden.
Fox is arguing that allegations against Dominion’s machines were newsworthy, and should be protected by the First Amendment.
