How the US Military Spends Over $44 Billion On Warplanes | Boot Camp | Insider Business

The Department of Defense has a budget of $817 billion for fiscal year 2023. More than $44 billion of that is dedicated to adding new warplanes to its fleet, with additional funds going to maintenance, training, and fuel for aircraft like the A-10 Thunderbolt II, MV-22 Osprey, C-17, F-35B Lightning II, and the AC-130J Ghostrider. Each aircraft is built to execute a wide variety of missions like close air support, transporting troops and cargo, and conducting humanitarian missions.
